An experienced barista hailing from the bustling metropolis of Tokyo, opening his very own cafe in the tranquil countryside has long been Asano's dream. Encouraged by his Hokkaido-born wife, Asano traveled in search of a truly spectacular place to put down roots. Enamored by the welcoming aura and dedication of locals on one such trip, he took a leap of faith and moved the family to Abira town. Through participation in the startup local incubator Fanfare Abira Startup College, Asano and his Abira Cafe is working to become one of Abira town's most recognized purveyor of locally sourced confections.
Just a 20 minute drive from the bustling New Chitose Airport, Abira is a quiet town with all the conveniences of modern Japan, yet scrupulously preserves the natural beauty of this northern island. Known as the birthplace of cheesemaking in Hokkaido and home of award winning horses, Abira town is a hotspot for agricultural and culinary innovation.
